For the decluttering (or “editing”) phase, yes. Your involvement is essential during this step, as we work together to decide what stays and what can be let go. This is often the most important and transformative part of the process.
However, once we’ve completed the editing stage, you do not need to be present for the hands-on organizing. I’m happy to take it from there and create systems that suit your lifestyle.

Decluttering is not about getting rid of everything. It’s about keeping what truly supports you and your lifestyle. We’ll explore that together, and throughout the process, you’ll stay in control of what remains.

Before we get started, take a little time to think about your goals for the space. How do you want it to look, feel, and function? What’s working? What’s not? The clearer your vision, the better I can make it a reality.
And don’t worry about tidying up before our consultation. I want to see how you really live in the space.
This is a no-judgment zone. Honestly, you're inviting me into your home, and I’m here to help, not to criticize.

No two spaces or organizing journeys are exactly the same. The pace of progress depends on a few key factors: the size of your space, the complexity of the project, and how quickly you’re able to make decisions along the way.
That said, I have systems and strategies to make each session efficient and focused. You'll be surprised how quickly your space starts to shift, and how much lighter and more functional it will feel, even early on in the process.

In my experience, a 3-hour initial session tends to be the most effective for clients. Editing a space can be physically demanding and often brings up emotional responses.
Additionally, the many decisions about what to keep, let go of, or reorganize can quickly lead to decision fatigue.
This time frame allows us to make meaningful progress while helping you to stay focused and avoid becoming overwhelmed.

Although I'm based in Charleston, SC, I'm happy to travel to areas outside the Tri-County area for in-person organizing sessions.
A travel fee will be assessed for projects located more than 30 miles from my office.
